Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how JettyGo ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the JettyGo mobile application or website (the "Service"). JettyGo is operated by Mohamed Alsan Azhaar in the Republic of Maldives.
1. Information we collect
When you use the Service, we collect:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (stored securely as a hash).
- Profile information: profile photo (optional), and for operators, business name, contact details, and vessel registration information.
- Booking and shipment details: trip itineraries, passenger names, package details, sender and receiver contact information.
- Payment-related information: bank account details you provide for refunds, screenshots of bank transfer slips you upload, and payment status (we do not store credit card numbers or process payments directly — see Section 3).
- Device information: device type, operating system, app version, and crash logs.
- Usage information: in-app actions (bookings created, slips uploaded, etc.) for service operation and audit purposes.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide the Service — connecting passengers and senders with vessel operators, and enabling bookings and shipments.
- Communicate booking, shipment, and payment status to you and to the relevant operator.
- Resolve disputes and audit transactions in case of complaints.
- Improve the Service through aggregated usage analysis.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud or abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Payments
JettyGo coordinates payments between you and operators. We do not hold or process your money. When you book a trip or send a package:
- You transfer the amount directly to the operator's bank account using your own banking app (Bank of Maldives, Maldives Islamic Bank, or other).
- You upload a screenshot of your transfer slip to JettyGo.
- The operator verifies the slip against their bank statement and confirms the payment.
Your bank transfer slips are stored privately in our cloud storage. They are visible only to you, the operator handling your booking or shipment, and JettyGo administrators in case of disputes.
If a refund is required, you will be asked to provide your bank account details to the operator through the app. The operator transfers the refund directly back to you.
4. Information shared with operators
When you book a trip or send a package, the operator receives the information necessary to fulfill your request, including:
- Your name and phone number.
- For packages: sender and receiver names and phone numbers.
- Booking or shipment details (route, dates, package size, etc.).
- Your payment slip (so they can verify the transfer).
- Your refund bank details, if applicable.
Operators are independent businesses, not employees of JettyGo. You should treat your interactions with them accordingly.
5. Information shared with third parties
We may share information with:
- Service providers: we use Supabase (database and storage) and Apple (app distribution and push notifications) to operate the Service. These providers process information on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
- Legal authorities: if required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
6. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Booking, shipment, and payment audit records are retained for at least 7 years for accounting and dispute resolution purposes, even after account deletion. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us — we will delete or anonymize personal data not required by law to retain.
7. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encrypted storage, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Withdraw consent for optional data processing.

9. Children
JettyGo is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when changes were last made. Material changes will be communicated through the app.
